How To Get Targeted Keywords For Use On Google Adwords

Everyone knows the importance of having targeted keywords for their Google Adwords campaigns, but not everyone knows where to begin – especially beginners. Most beginners simply read an article on how they can make money with Adwords, sign up for an affiliate product, go to Adwords with some broad keywords, and end up losing hundreds of dollars in the process.

If this has ever happened to you, then you are not alone.

Money can be made with adwords, but it has to be done right. And it all begins with proper keyword research. Having a great ad and landing page is important too, but in this article we’re going to focus in on how to select the best possible keywords as possible so that you can start off on the right foot.

If you’re thinking about purchasing a nifty keyword tool that can get you thousands of niche related keywords in seconds, then you should hold off on that thought. Before you start spending money on anything, start by creating a small keyword list yourself. Try creating a list of about 50 targeted keywords that’s related to the niche you want to enter into, and try to improve from there.

You always want to take your time before investing any money into a business, and this is especially true if you’re thinking about spending money on advertising. Right now, creating these keyword lists by hand is practice. Once you get the hang of it and you can create 50 targeted keywords in other niches, then you may want to consider purchasing a tool that can get you a vast list of targeted keywords to use.

Now, once you’ve gotten the hang of creating 50 keywords by hand and understand the importance of good quality keywords, it’s time to test these keywords out. At this step, you want to use Google’s free keyword tool to find out if any of the keywords that you wrote out by hand are actually getting any search each month. You can find that tool here: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Remember, you want to get a feel of how this works, and the process of making your adwords campaign profitable. Simply enter all of the keywords that you have written out and see if any are listed as having being searched for in the search engines. If so, you have a keyword candidate that you can bid on.

Another thing that you will find is that, when you enter some of the keywords you wrote out earlier into the tool, you will find a slew of other relevant keywords with very little competition also. You will want to jot these down also and possibly use them if you find them relevant to what you’re selling.

To make the process easier for you, this Google’s tool allows you to export your keyword findings in excel format. You will want to do that for our exercise below.

MAKING THESE KEYWORDS PROFITABLE

Now that you know in a general sense how to find highly-relevant keywords that relate to what you are selling, you will want to put these good keywords into use in your Adwords account.

The first thing you should know is that you shouldn’t just go and put up all of these keywords at one into 1 ad group. This is a great way to not get as many clicks as possible. The first step before bidding on any of these keywords is to make your website relevant in the eyes of Google. Here’s how to do it.

You want to set your ad group and landing page up so that they both structured toward 1 keyword and variations of that keyword. So if you sell motorbikes, here’s how you want to set things up:

***AD GROUP NAME***

“Discount Motorbikes”

***KEYWORDS***

discount motorbikes
cheap motorbikes
affordable motorbikes

With this technique, you can easily lower your minimum bid because you are targeting low cost keywords that are highly relevant to what your website is about – Which will only increase the chances of your website being ranked as high as possible in Google’s PPC results.

And when you create an ad with the these niche keywords in your title, description, and URL – Google will find your ad to be very good and relevant, and will bold the keywords in your ad which will make it easier for your prospect to find you.

But it doesn’t stop here. Google can also see your landing page. So you want to include these keywords on your landing page also – especially in the headline of your website. You want your entire campaign as relevant as possible so that you can get a high “quality score” by Google, and get your site ranked high in the PPC results.

Makes sense? I hope so. This little tutorial on keyword research will prove to be very helpful if you start implementing them now. So I suggest you start using them today. Good luck!

5 Tips For Boosting The Revenue You Make From Google Adwords

Advertising your business online is a great way to reach a huge audience with very little costs, and Google Adwords gives you the chance to do just that. But if you just jump right in to the Google Adwords game, you may find yourself with empty pockets and little to no sales to show for it. Therefore, it’s important that you know how to advertise using Google Adwords effectively, and how to get the most bang for your buck.

To get started, you will want to take advantage of the free tools that Google Adwords has available for you to learn from. These tools consist of videos, software, and even an online keyword tool you can use to select the proper keywords for your account.

Any time you spend learning as much as possible about Adwords is time well spent. And today, I’m going to further your learning efforts with 9 tips on improving your business’s profits and sales using Google Adwords. Let’s begin!

TIP #1: Know how much you’re willing to spend each day

When beginning to advertise on Adwords, you will want to know how much you can afford to spend each day in relation to how much money you are earning. Initially this amount shouldn’t be large as you should familiarize yourself with the workings of Adwords, and also to test your conversion rates.

But after you have found that you are making a profit on your advertising efforts, you should probably increase your daily budget and continue to monitor your returns.

TIP #2: Always bid on relevant keywords

When selecting your keywords, you want to make sure that they are as targeted as possible. Don’t skimp for the idea of broad keywords simply because they can get you alot of clicks. Alot of clicks doesn’t necessarily mean alot of sales, so choose your keywords wisely.

As a rule of thumb, “phrase match” and “exact match” keywords will outperform broad match keywords. This is only because they are more targeted than broad match keywords. Even though you may not get as many clicks as broad match, they will more than like prove to be very profitable for you.

TIP #3: Make your ad compelling

Your ad tells your prospect everything. It tells them everything they need to know within the short time span of 1 second – because 1 second is all you have to close them on the idea of clicking on your ad.

You should make sure that your targeted keywords are in the title and description of your ad. You want your ad to appear as if it were written and designed especially for your prospect. Because if you don’t, they will simply pass you by and click on a competitor’s ad who is speaking their language.

TIP #4: Your landing page has to convey the same thing

Your landing page and your ad goes hand-in-hand when it comes to closing your prospect on a sale. Your landing page should contain the same keywords that you used in your ad. This is a great way to inform your prospect that your message is relevant to them, and that you can solve the problem that they are having.

When leading your prospect to your landing page, you have to consider what you want them to do. If you want them to buy something, then tell them everything they need to know before they buy. If you want them to receive more information from you, then design your website to get their contact information. Based upon your business model, you have to decide what technique is best for you and that is most profitable for your business.

TIP #5: Stay on top of the marketplace

You really do have to stay on top of the marketplace in terms of knowing the latest news in your industry. You have to stay abreast on your competitors also to see what they’re doing to get new customers. If you find out that this month you didn’t get as much customers as you usually get, you need to find out why and fix this problem immediately. And by staying on top of the marketplace, you do this by default.

You can then take this information and modify your Adwords campaign as necessary. Remember, market research is pivotal in any business, and when advertising on Google Adwords, it’s a must. Keep these 5 tips in mind when starting your Google Adwords campaign.
